It was bright, sunny morning in Dinas Powys and CRCC Dan 10 were raring to go following a rather lack-lustre performance by Wales against France!
To be honest, I was watching the players rather than the game as a whole, so I apologise for the things which I missed! What stood out for me was how well they played as a team.
There was the impressive, one-on-one tackles. Of note, we have to mention Benn, Tomos Davies, Trystan and Tomos Williams.
We also witnessed some strong runs notably from Harri, Tomos Davies and Danny, breaking through tackles.
And then there is the off-loading. We saw a beauty from Dylan which resulted in a try, wonderful interplay between Gruff and Osian Case, great holding of his defender from Cian. This, added to the jinking and jiving of the likes of Brychan and Tomos Williams made for some illusive running.
And defensive realignment is beginning to take some form. Well done to Seth for holding the wing and forcing their players back in to meet formidable CRCC tackles. Also well done to Benn and Tomos Davies for calling the line.
Our rucking play is also improving. Well done to Benn, Trystan and Twm for some amazing rucking work, like terriers at the breakdown. Brychan, Danny and Tomos Williams also put in some hard work there.
And good supporting runners, we have so many. But today, it is a big well done to Osian Meese who stood out as did Steff.
Well done to Benn for Seren y Gem. There were so many who could have got it today, but Benn’s strong tackles and communication stood out.
We saw some lovely tries as well from Steff, Brychan, Benn, Harri, Lenny, Osian C, Twm, Trystan and Tomos Davies.
The players should all be proud of themselves. Today was a great, team effort, resulting in a strong performance! Onwards and upwards Clwb!
